How to Play

Play Forknite online for free. Forknite is a connect 3 in a row game where players remove vegetables from the playing field as they connect them. Connect 4 or more vegetables to replenish your remaining play time. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Click the yellow and white play button on the game’s welcome screen.
- This will bring up the game instructions screen.
- Click on the yellow and white play button in the lower right corner of the instruction screen to start the game.
- Your web browser automatically saves your most recent score and your all-time high score.
- Game Controls
  - Desktop
    - Use your mouse left click button to select a vegetable, then draw line segments connecting adjacent vegetables of the same type to remove them from the playing field.
    - Touchscreen devices
      - Use your finger to touch the screen to select and remove vegetables.
      - Your remaining time meter is green and appears on the left side of the screen.
      - Your current score shows at the top left of the screen.
      - Your level progress meter and current level show at the top center of the screen.
      - The upper right corner has buttons to turn sound on or off and to go back to the game’s welcome screen.
        If you click the button in the upper right corner it will end your game.
        This game does not have a pause meter.
        Game Play
        When you start the game the timer does not begin until after you select a vegetable.
        Other than that the game does not have a pause button!
        Connecting Vegetables
        When you select a vegetable it will make a sad face.
        If you select the wrong vegetable you can deselect it by letting go provided you have not yet connected at least 3.
        Each vegetable you remove from the playing field is worth 80 points.
        Connection Math
        Each corner vegetable has 3 possible connections.
        Each side vegetable has 5 possible connections.
        Each center vegetable has 8 possible connections.
        The game only has 5 types of vegetables, so connections are quite easy to make.
        Strategy
        Try to connect at least 4 in a row whenever possible so you refresh the time meter.
        When connecting vegetables start from one at an edge and use diagonals if possible to keep the connection chain going as long as possible.
        If you have one vegetable which is fairly dominant on the playing field and you can keep up with the time meter easily enough you can let that vegetable grow a larger share of the playing field to make a large match at once generate a lot of level progress.
        The playing field is 9 vegetables wide by 5 vegetables tall for a total of 45 spots.
        If you are creative with angles and let one of the vegetables build up to represent a large part of the playing field it is not hard to connect about 12 to 15 at a time.
        As you advance through the game the time meter moves much faster and around level 9 or 10 one likely needs to be content making lots of 4 or 5 matches rather than trying to make quite long ones.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for match 3 gamers and Dennis & Gnasher fans of all ages.
        The game has no adult themed content.
